FINDING SUCCESS THROUGH CAPO FC

Hello, my name is Sergio Montes; I’m 24 with a full time job and I’m still continuing to follow my passion which is, Futbol. I was born in East Los Angeles, however, I moved to the small town of San Juan Capistrano at the age of two; and it’s where I am still currently living.

Growing up, soccer was introduced to me at an early age and I played Sunday League Soccer in SJC until the age of 14. Although I enjoyed playing the game at local fields like Stone field, Marco Forster Middle School, and Sports Park, I was just not very good. I felt a disconnect with soccer and the fundamentals, and personally, I was not in love with the sport.

Around this time is when I became aware of CAPO FC. They were a fast-growing local club with a great group of players and coaches, so when I decide to join, I had no idea what kind of positive impact they would have on my life. They made me fall in love with the game and CAPO FC made me want to pursue a college degree through soccer!

CAPO FC provided me with all the resources in order to make that happen. I was able to play for a small private university with a scholarship. They invested in the community and the coaching staff who were ultimately the pillars of success for all the young successful men who came out of the organization. Now, I have a great job while pursuing a professional contract in NISA, with the same club who taught me everything that has to do with soccer and life.

CAPO FC brought me so much more than who I am on the field today. This club, for me, brought lifelong friends, great coaches, and mentors. I owe everything to this club for the man I am today, and for that, I am forever grateful that Capistrano FC decided to help and serve its own community.
